Wasn't there a song by some bird in the early '80s called "I've Never Been To Me" or something cryptic like that. I think she called herself Charlene. Anyone confirm this?

"I've been to Paradise but I've never been to me" "Imagination" by Belouis Some was the best 1 Hit Wonder song I can remember from the early 80's. The bloke (Neville Keighley)went to Royal Russell School at the top of Gravel Hill and I recall being invited along to see him perform for his one of his old schoolmates who was badly injured in a car accident.

haven't read the whole thread so excuse repititions: tasmin archer - sleeping satellite plus charles & eddie - would i lie to you baby (what a song) Edited by tetley (02 Dec 2004 2:11am) and scatman - the scatman song (i think) - went skib-a-dee-bi-bop etc. apparently he really had a serious speech defect (especially with stuttering) so he could be seen as pops pre-cursor to gareth gates...perhaps.
