Ah yes, how did I know Fox News, an oxymoron if there ever was one, would pop up. Let me know when someone like Auntie Beeb,DW or France 24 runs it. Otherwise, kindly spare me the propaganda. That includes MSNBC, which doesn't know the meaning of research & CNN, which doesn't know how to read. See ten minutes of The Wolf Man telling the world SCOTUS ruled Obamacare unconstitutional,

I think as an individual looking in from afar you have to take a cynical view of most events in Washington be they from a democratic/republican angle.

For me at least I look at individuals and their actions and deem how much those actions appear ethical and honest.....I have to admit that while I don't agree with his identity politics and are doubtful on his economics at least I find Sanders quite ethical and adult in how he treats Trump.

Trump isn't ethical but as I keep saying, he's a nationalist so for me, I find his 'America' first, foreign policy and ideas on immigration at least vaguely compatible with my thoughts on how politicians should be putting the working person in their nation first.

Politicians should be adults and so many in that profession act like chancers and relative low lifes crawling around for any advantage they can find.

I'm sure there are more honest brokers on both sides....but like most of us in the UK...the politics of the US (whilst being important and fascinating) is just a side glance.

I presume that you still haven't even bothered reading it Ken, as, yet again, it's what the politicians are saying that matters, not the outlet. Amazing.

Oh but I have. I've read each one. There's good reason why this hasn't been more widely reported. The original source material is not reputable.

Let me make my position clear on Trump. Even with my profound disagreements with his policies, I totally disapprove of the way he does "business." Let's take a look at the last 48 hours. The Congressional GOP leadership came up with a cunning plan that actually was cunning. They tied six years of funding for the State Children's Health Insurance Plan (S-CHIP or CHIP) to the Continuing Resolution. What does Trump do? He effectively cuts the legs out from Ryan & McConnell by saying he doesn't want CHIP in the CR because he wants a "long term solution" for the program. Six years? Not long term? Are you peeing on my leg and telling me it's raining? He is simple the most unqualified person to ever hold the office, exceeding the incompetence of Fillmore (who became president when Zachary Taylor died), Buchanan, Harding, and George W Bush in his 2nd term (Terry Schiavo and Katrina response). W had kittens when he herd the s-hole remark as he actually had one of the better foreign policy initiatives in Africa that emphasised a holistic approach to the AIDS epidemic there. Had Congress listened to him on immigration we would be in much better shape in that area. I opposed Bush's policies in most areas but in those two he was right on the money. What does Trump give us? In the words of a GOP Congressman and former CIA agent whose district contains 800 miles of Mexican border, 3rd Century solutions for 21st Century problems. In other words, WTF!

I may have posted this quote earlier but it bears repeating. A famous "progressive" American philosopher said, "Fixed fortifications are monuments to the stupidity of mankind." That person was GEN George S Patton, Jr. Trump, who claims mastery of military and security issues, totally disregards this fundamental lesson of World War II. He then puts his putative Congressional allies into impossible positions by failing to maintain effective liaison with them. This man who wrote "The Art of the Deal" can't make one because he has no idea what he really wants and what the philosophy is of the political party he is supposed to be the leader of. So, when you present me with the latest conspiracy theory du jour, which I did my due diligence by actually researching the sources for it, and claim it somehow justifies this totally incompetent and narcissistic person's performance, please understand that I really couldn't care less. My country, which I served on active duty in the US Army for 10 years, 2 months and 11 days, is going to hell in a hand basket and its Executive Branch can't even tie its proverbial shoes without effing that up.

I'm by no means ignoring Trumps 'failings', but this has been happening for many many years now.

The American economy is doing rather well at the moment. Time will tell if this feeds down.

As far as I can tell you don't like Trump because....his behaviour and presumably policies hurt your feelings. It's the women's march today..plenty on that won't be liking him either.....at a time where female employment is at its highest for 18 years.

Yeah, Trump's an arse but essentially as Clinton once said....and I'm going to be more polite than him....it's about the economy.

The country is effectively bankrupt, running on nothing other than ever-increasing debt (both public and private). Hardly an economy ''doing rather well''.

Bankrupt??? The world jumps to America's economic health.

Every western economy...hell world economy runs on debt. What matters is growth and America is currently booming.

Trump has had a successful first year economically. How it feeds down and whether it continues we shall see.

On September 7, 2017, only five-and-a-half months ago (just before Congress suspended the debt ceiling), the gross national debt stood at $19.8 trillion.
As of the latest reporting by the Treasury Department, the US gross national debt rose by $41.5 billion on Thursday, February 22, to a grand total of $20.8 trillion.

1 trillion of debt added in less than 6 months........and these are supposed to be the good times!!!!!!
