If my child came home to me saying what you described I would be concerned. I'm not so certain as Nick is in how ideas are presented in school. Many teachers are professionals but not all teachers. Years ago in my RE class someone brought up Zionism. What they said I can't remember. The teacher had a Polish surname and a Jewish bias, saying the land was originally their's. Wasn't part of the curriculum. Only things like beliefs, religious holidays and customs were.
