Next time she may tell her parents about Jewish Passover or why Sikh men are allowed to carry a knife for religious reasons.

Mohamed is not 'the prophet', he was an Islamic prophet, and according to the Christian religion of the girl, a false prophet at that. However, of course the school does not mention that.

How religious ideas are presented to children in a school should be handled extremely sensitively. If my child came home to me saying what you described I would be concerned. I'm not so certain as Nick is in how ideas are presented in school. Many teachers are professionals but not all teachers. Some are pretty poor when comes to keeping their own personal agendas out of what they teach over time....though I can say that in the schools I've worked in I never saw a problem with RE...as they use to call it.
