I note the Zaha transfer rumours are now starting ( this time to Dortmund).
I’m just surprised that it’s taken until the last week of the window for Zaha to be linked with anyone!
His representatives usually seem pretty busy having him linked with different clubs.
I don’t for one moment see him leaving this window and still think we’ll bring in at least two players but not until the end of the window.

Other than the Keeper crisis, (which maybe Perri solves?), I won't be that bothered if we don't get anyone new in.

Roy has Tekkers, Wickham and Dann which he pretty much hasn't been able to select all season.
Yes a few players have gone out, but no one of consequence (impact wise I see Wickham as an upgrade on Sorloth)

I'd like an attacking mid, but Roy has one in Meyer and he barely plays him.

Given the wages crunch, I'd rather save the room for the summer, when Roy might not be here (so give a new Manager the cash), and go for RLC.

Thats the problem. Its highly likely Wickham will get injured again and then we are left with Benteke and Ayew. Even the biggest optimist would be concerned by that.

We have a first team that should match anybody in mid table.

We are 4-5 injuries away from being deep in the brown stuff.

Only 3 points above relegation zone. We need at least 3 adequate squad players or we are playing roulette.

I do think the team is in need of new players, but I think it’s better to wait until the summer when there is more value. No point wasting money in Jan

With only 15 games left, the January window is not the time to go shopping for overpriced goods (with only a few players truly available during the season).

I see no reason to push the panic button, but Roy may move on during the summer. So no point adding more of his choices at high prices when the salary costs are already high.

According to the Guardian we have dropped our interest in Tosun and Okazaki as Benteke is fit again. Saw that coming months ago. I understand posters who say "we will be alright no need to panic" but SP is playing a dangerous game with the PL future of my club. We can only have about 20 players in our squad, 4 of whom are goalkeepers

That begs the question that it was known that Benteke would be returning to fitness this month, so why the interest in loaning Solanke ? That was virtually a done deal.

I would love to ask Salako what his definition of 'fit' is. If that means 'technically able to run' then I would suggest Benteke has been refusing to even do that since the start of last season and it's all well and good for Wickham, but what I've seen so far is that he has forgotten how to kick a ball in his time out, let alone play football, and have been thinking this recently, am I right to only remember his goal against Man City a while back being his only one at Selhurst Park or have there been others?

We are so desperate currently we are relieved to see Wickham back, but I seem to recall thinking he was on a sort of Jon Macken, Calvin Andrew-esque level of goalscoring ability anyway and wanting to physically assault CB unless he paid for my season ticket?

Maybe my memory is fading with age.
