So our crap defending is down to the fact that we are attacking too much! So how did it work for us in the first 20 minutes when our usual defensive shape allowed Villa to bombard us with shots, crosses, corners and 72% possession?

Only when we opened up did we start to get into the game and the individual crap defensive performances that cost us their two goals are not directly associated with our attacking which I think has been ok today.

Finally being trusted? Are you joking? He's been given more starts for somebody who has been ineffectual than any player should be given. Roy has had nothing but faith in the player. It's only recently he's done much useful although he still misses a bagful of chances and doesn't create a mass of chances.
