Also Everton paying loan fee and full wages, we only offered 85% of wages, so he didn't have a choice Man Utd would have told him where to go.

Pat would’ve had a signing over the line from his contacts - similar to Gerrard and Coutinho.

The players we brought in over the summer were targeted and worked on as part of the clubs philosophy and were identified and worked on over time.

This would’ve been a signing that the manager could only have influence over as a global name and one which could’ve added value and Panache to the midfield for the remainder of the season.

If he'd done what Favre did to us then I can understand the anger, but for a 4 month loan , why would anyone unpsticks and move to London when he can stay where he's settled.

Disappointed as well. There have been a lot of good players gone to Man U post Ferguson who have badly under performed. Probably a number of reasons for this but it sounded like he is best suited to a team playing 4x3x3 and so our shape could well have brought the best out of him. Ultimately if Everton had gone for a different manager then he would have been a Palace player.

I hate to break it to you but we still are.

West Ham and Everton gazump us because they have more money and are prepared to chuck as much at the seller as the seller demands.

Not necessarily a bad thing for us. We are a middling sized club run prudently on sustainable grounds. You play for us if you want first team football in the premier league and get paid well. But if you want to pull our pants down, go elsewhere.

On young Donny, would have loved him to have played for us for a bit, but it was not to be.

Do you really think it might be the latter? Our summer dealings suggest to me at least that the club are not going to pay silly money for short term gain. The real business will be pencilled in for this coming summer and I suspect that DF & Co are already identifying the targets they want to bring in not to mention which of the expiring contracts they wish to renew. We knew from the start of this window that it was unlikely we would do any business unless the right type of player at the right price became available. We are fortunate that we are not in desperation straits like Newcastle and Everton.
