Boris is most definitely not wise. He's evasive and slippery – much like his puppet master. That said, I'd probably be doing the same as him to reduce the possibility of losing support by entering into a fair fight. Gamesmanship, calculated cowardice and general shirking – not very honourable but certainly tactically astute.

Thought this a good piece... Not that I agree with all the assertions but the broad stroke of identity laying at the heart of not only this election but the wider Brexit shadow is being held under is a valid one. And the one that the R2's struggle most to get their heads around not least because, if they were honest, it also lays at the heart of why they are slavishly addicted to the notion (but perhaps not the reality) of the 'European Union'.

Cummings plays dirty because the system is dirty....when you read his stuff you get the impression of a cynic who would agree with you. Fairness doesn't win....Nothing in the world is fair....and often when you are fair you are eventually taken advantage of and demonised. The Greeks wanted a peace treaty with the Romans....they wanted to play by a rulebook with battles and prisoners.....The Romans didn't and the Romans won.....The unfortunate reality in life is that the most committed....the one most prepared to bite and scratch ends up winning most of the time. They then get to write the history of it. There's this illogical idea in the west that 'doing what's right' will always end up with better outcomes....it's almost a religious belief....it isn't grounded in nature.

The BBC telling Labour that Boris would be on with Andrew Neil and it not happening. Typical BBC right wing bias.

Edited by Stirlingsays (29 Nov 2019 12.03pm) Yep. The trick is to do as much as you can to do the right thing in life, whilst knowing when you need to bend the rules, but always doing so with a slight feeling of unease that keeps you honest. When that feeling disappears, you know you're in trouble.

I kind of noticed things weren't going too well. When I grew up and became more cynical that changed....However, that philosophy is how I'd like the world to work....However its pursuit leads to ruin. In reality you play fair when you can afford to lose. The common sense lies in knowing what's important and what isn't. Edited by Stirlingsays (29 Nov 2019 12.25pm)

A sarcastic red pill?.....I'll take it and ignore the intent. Me. Sarcastic. You have the wrong man Sir. As always though, this is a symptom of a larger problem. I am sure both sides will find bias in all media, but the lady at the end, on QT, summed it up quite perfectly, which is that the media is controlled by a handful of people and to think they are not imposing their views on the rest of the country is quite absurd. I made a point earlier that about 80% of newspapers were right wing, which I had a lot of 'feedback' on. I still stand by that, because I base it on papers 'sold' not quantity of papers that are left or right, e.g. the top circulated papers are The Sun, DM, Times, Mirror, Evening Standard, Daily Express and Daily Star. For example the 3 biggest media corporations are owed by 3-5 people, which has about 85% of the newspaper market - Sun, DM and Mirror. That does not sound healthy in any way. So, my initial statement on the BBC being bias just because they haven't managed to get Boris in is silly, however, I could make the argument that they lean right just by the fact of having their head of politics ending up being a Conservative party advisor. Sir Robbie Gibb. Now, you can argue that he may have been professional, but, the argument always comes back to equality. If Boris was made to look like an idiot by Neil and Corbyn didn't turn up, it is a fact that a lot on here would be up in arms.

On a personal level, aiming to do what's right seems a good credo.
