They sound serious. Hope they’ve cleared up.

Gotta luv that woman.

She will be long gone by 2027 and hopefully the tories too.

Can't see elderly tory voters liking this one bit either.

What with the cost of living going up it's going to be hard for the BBC to justify the licence fee to the masses.

A massive number of court cases are related to non payment and the vast majority of those are by women, criminalising people for non payment.

One more point

Old fashioned sweet shop opened in Midhurst last year. Sell all the sweets we know and love from childhood as described above. Coconut Mushrooms were my vice.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

The Tories have been talking tough on the BBC for decades.....they never follow through on it.

We shall see what happens this time.

Hopefully this is just an attempt to take the focus off Johnson. I don't believe it will actually happen.

Some of the Tories, and some here too, just don't "get" the BBC, it's value to the country and it's standing around the world.

They want it to compete with Netflix, but that misses the entire point.

I don't have an issue in trying to protect the vulnerable by ensuring they can view without payment, just so long as the funding remains free of government influence, obligatory for everyone else and sufficient to maintain standards

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

Well they are not daft and know how more more it would cost.

And its part of their lives.

If you value the BBC, sure carry on funding it.

I stopped last year and it feels great not paying the wages of people who don't represent or even like me....Personally I think the BBC should be paid for by Guardian types as those are also the types of people working at the BBC.

The tactics the BBC use to scare people into paying the license is low down and quite disgusting....they often mislead in their letters and the fact that they will turn up to old people's homes who often don't have two pennies to rub together looking to intimate them into a license just shows them up for who they really are.

The left destroyed the BBC just like they end up destroying everything else and eventually it's going to go or be reduced considerably....and that's on them.

If you don't want to fund the BBC anymore but are scared as I once was and don't know how I recommend watching videos from this guy.

Freeview is well, free.
Plenty of news channels not woke.
I'm sure old people may miss the radio shows so concentrate on those. Without the political bias!
