I suppose that is the crunch question. Who would take the manager's job in this situation? If you go to Qatar and don't make a political protest gesture then you'll get hounded by both fans complaining about taking the knee today and the LBGT community. If you do make a political statement then I expect the Qatar authorities will make your stay 'uncomfortable'. Remember when Booby Moore got arrested for stealing jewellery before the 1970 World Cup? I think this is correct but personally I would have liked to see the majority of footballing nations taking a stand against Qatar being awarded the WC, much like their stand on anti-racism

I’ve made my point. This is my stance:

I am against taking the knee. I am however in support of us boycotting the World Cup. This is something that it if you have a want to make a political gesture then you should support this stance. If we do not boycott the World Cup then the FA, the players and the media are just massively hypocritical.

There is a subtle difference. Nobody is booing the players, they are booing the gesture. There is no animosity against the players or the team and we all wish them well in the tournament.

I hope as many people see this as possible and understand exactly the difference between all the buzzwords and what the practical reality of what those words mean.
