Mat Ov - spot on. This isn't about party politics, this is about fundamental principles and ethics. And law breaking at the tax-payers expense Chuckle. This is all about making us forget why the Tories have a huge majority and why the so called red wall went blue.

Looks like it"s going to be a long war for the working out well lie to suffice- if at all, certainly not in our life time, although you will no doubt say you always expected it to be never in our time- oh well, keep up the fantasy why don"t you!

Not as long as I have a hole in my bottom. And the simple fact is the Tories won their huge majority thanks to the utter morons who pushed for a second Brexit referendum. It is that simple. They handed the keys to number 10 to him on a platter. 2017, based on backing Brexit, Labour deny the Tories a working majority. 2019, based on reneging on Brexit, Labour gift the Tories an 80 seat working majority. Most times politics is all smoke and mirrors. All in the detail, in the nuance. But rarely, it is f***ing simple. Stuff a retarded Chimp should be able to grasp. And Johnson's victory in December 2019 was one of those occasions.

So not labour then. Your new bestie won’t be happy with you The thing is that Labour are actually 'winning' in terms of the Tories basically stealing some of their economic ideas. But they are then hitting themselves in the head with a club hammer with all this Trans BS. I genuinely struggle to understand this later part. I have long suspected that being in opposition is far more fun in terms of the political larking and Labour is now so used to it that the dopamine hit from actually being in power is nowhere near as good as when they are losing. The smug, self-righteous 'force' is stronger when you can sneer at the proles who have the audacity to ignore you. Don't even need to pretend to care about the working class if they consistently kick you in the electoral bollocks. Akin to a kind of gambling addiction although I accept it's not a clear analogy.

Good point. They are still in "Corbyn mode" it's great fun rubbishing the government just ask CP, less fun when you are the one having to make tough decisions. Corbyn has been a protestor all his life and galvanised the party with new members (protestors) however when it came to be a government in waiting he had feet of clay. Labour need to get out of this mode.

He was not ruthless enough. That was his problem. But what he achieved in 2017 was stunning. A seriously impressive election result. Labours activists really hit the cobbles and made a huge difference. In 2019 though it backfired, and all down to that second referendum. Championed by a man who not only then took over from Corbyn but then kicked him out of the party. This is proper Shakespearian political theatre. Incredible really.

I sincerely hope the media will now put this whole, sordid business to bed. Of course they were wrong to show such blatant disregard for the world outside their bubble. But, as I see it, the folk concerned, were all working together, under one roof, as a team, grappling with the issues generated by an unprecedented pandemic. They let off steam and had a few drinks. They should not have behaved the way they did, but the media storm that followed has been an outrageous waste of time and money. Time to let it go Beth, Laura, Robert and Co. PS I did like Boris' reference to 'Sir Beer Korma' yesterday though. The media storm you refer to clearly didn't include the Sun or the Mail which ignored the story - in fact it the Mail that focused on Sir Keir Starmer's one beer for 13 consecutive days?? BTW who owns those papers and who did Johnson's wife date before Boris (Harry Cole, in case you can't join the dots) Boris was so humbled in his apology that he couldn't resist a little joke, that you say you liked, despite using that same rationale as exactly the reason why he didn't deserve a fine. Next you'll be saying he got all the big decisions right - despite over 170k deaths and a boarder in the Irish sea, plus food prices going through the roof (and that's before the Ukraine war started) Edited by palace99 (27 May 2022 11.04am) Edited by palace99 (27 May 2022 11.06am)

Labour need to get out of this mode. Literally yesterday the government picked up Labour's windfall tax proposal and called it their own. And people seriously question why the opposition wouldn't be more forthcoming with their own policy ideas with no GE in sight.
