With Steve Hackett's departure, their guitar virtuoso was gone and Tony Banks took Genesis into the commercial years of keyboard heaven.
For me, this was the beginning of the end.

And the obnoxiousness of Collins made it even worse.

I loved the Gabriel years and the two after he left, Wind & Wuthering and your request, but after that it got hard listening.

However I did get to see them live at the old Wembley in 1987 on their Invisible Touch tour and that was enjoyable.

 

What can this strange device be?
When I touch it it gives forth a sound.

Being a bit greedy here nic, and a tad hopeful.
