I suspect the players are as glad to see the back of that season as I am. The subs were designed to keep the score line respectable with no catastrophes. The game was lost at that point, so perhaps a nice gesture from Hodgson

I thought we did pretty well against a very good L'pool side whose fast attacking style is very impressive. We missed CB but Ayew put in his usual hard-working and intelligent shift. Ward may lack pace, but he's excellent at reading situations - terrific experience. I'll be sorry to see some of these older players (and Roy) leave Selhurst.
