Fair question.

To me 'racism' has to fundamentally affect people's lives and be about their skin colour or origin.
Clearly, segregation of 'races' or denial of rights afforded to others of another 'race' is racism.

Prejudice arising purely from being in a minority or favouring your own kind or preferring to be with your own kind is just normal human behaviour, not racism.

Tell Antony Joshua he is a racist for favouring his own kind before you tell someone White.

Of course, the whole subject is more complex but if we perpetually find ways to be offended, play the victim or hold on to generations old resentments then we do ourselves no favours.

Yes again I agree that is why I said I've seen the same done on both sides in terms of not providing accurate reports of events.

Sadly there'll be plenty more from today.

Suddenly everyone on Sky news and the rest wants to talk about violence against the police.

How depressingly predictable.

Suddenly we can talk about 'White thugs' the 'far right' and the classic, White Supremacists.

Is anyone fooled by this charade anymore?

Has anyone in the news media been watching what has gone on in this country in the last couple of weeks?

Suddenly it is all the fault of the far right apparently.

When you have extreme politcal action of the most provocative kind like we have seen recently by left wing and race orientated groups, it is inevitable that there will be a reaction.

The media's constant attempts to paint a one sided picture of the political and cultural landscape are as much to blame as anyone.

The issue is that we all so polarised now, are any of us capable of taking a detached, honest view of it all? I see the BLM stuff and am just completely baffled. I get why people were upset about the intial video because you would have to be not human to be shocked by that. But all the mayhem afterwards? And the eulogising of what was a pretty unpleasant thug. Makes zero sense to me, impacting on a deep part of my psyche. Part of me really scared almost because it seems to be insanity playing out and people who should be opposing it such as the police and politicians are bending over backwards, literally, to not only accommodate it but even promote it in what I can only see as a form of collective suicide.

Bending the knee to people who want to destroy the very institutions they represent. Beyond my comprehension.

As I have said, it is not the 'black' part that bothers me but more how other white people seem to be falling over themselves to self-flagellate in frenzied competition.

Like a religious mania.

But I also concede perhaps I am so polarised myself, I simply cannot see the other side? Self-aware enough to concede that point.
