I actually think the overwhelming majority of people who join the police in the US do so with good intentions however over time the crime, violence lack of support from up the chain of command wears people down until theyre just as violent as the people theyre arresting, I imagine its a bit like people who work in abbatoirs, its just a job at first but slowly it turns people violent and they will violently abuse animals before slaugther. Funnily enough out here im convinced the people who join the police do so for the bribes and the chance to kick s*** out of someone. The mountains are calling & I must go.
