If there weren't enough proof already that you are a fully-qualified rectiloquent, you've just provided more. Edited by chateauferret (01 May 2017 4.41pm) Never heard of such a grandiose word - further proof that rhetorical grandstanding is alive and well on HOL.

A ventriloquist is someone who (makes it look as if he) talks out of his stomach (Lat. ventrum = stomach; loquo = talk). You must know this. In Latin, "rectum" means "arse". You know that as well, no doubt. Rectiloquism = talking out of your arse. And yes, I made it up. You're right however in that it should be "rectiloquist", an agent noun rather than a present participle. HTH.

You mean loquor - the verb is deponent.

Further proof that in this debate you are treading water like a pedalo fighting the tide.

I made a perfectly valid point and you dealt with it by avoiding the question altogether and quibbling about one of the words I'd used. Nothing new about that I suppose. You said you'd come to a view after seeing things on TV, then when we asked you a question, you denied having seen it on TV. Own goal.

When you actually read what I say rather than quote inaccuracies you can spout gibberish like "Own Goal" and the like. I said that in the tension of a match I can find decisions frustrating but then in the cold-light of day and/or after watching TV footage I might conclude that I was wrong or that I can see matters from the referees perspective and accordingly can have a differing viewpoint and perspective. When I commented about NOT seeing an incident, all I said was that I haven't as yet seen any footage of the Zaha "Offside" incident which has drawn comment on here.If and when I see it then I can get a clearer picture in my mind. What I HAVE seen is the Zaha penalty appeal and I do NOT believe that it warranted a penalty at all.Very theatrical indeed.

Far from "Quibbling" I just said I had never heard of it and as you had made it up I am hardly surprised ! Anyway what on earth has this got to do with the referee at the Burnley game ? Now let's get back to the subject matter please.

Well, you go off and watch the footage, then come back here and answer the question: Did the officials make a mistake that could have changed the outcome of a match? Alternatively you can take our word for it together with that picture.
