Edited by Willo (21 Mar 2021 12.14am) sometimes the big clubs are tired/distracted by European aspirations. The last relegation place is now a straight dogfight between Fulham & Newcastle. And it will be a very close run thing.... Newcastle are a worse outfit, but Fulham are 2 points behind them having played an extra game. Because Fulham are only 7 miles away from us, i will call them local rivals. Hence i want Newcastle to survive. But the magpies are dire, and another big injury tonight.

Have a preference for Newcastle to go down for totally irrational reasons - Newcastle fans with their shirts off in January, Steve Bruce, Alan Shearer, Ryan Fraser and, last but not least, it's a long way for Palace fans to travel for the away fixture.

I hope Fulham stay up - always a good away day - I even organised a boat down the Thames on 2 occasions ! As for Newcastle, they are and have been a basket case of a club for years now.

And jolly good they were too. Always remember the bemused look of the tourists looking over Westminster Bridge at us in full "Glad All Over" cry. If Barnsley come up, what have you got in mind?
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

A morning's swimming at the nearby Leisure Centre. Followed by a pint in the cafe. Bring your speedos and tell Jim to bring his too

I see West Brom have just given up and accepted relegation. Hope we do the same on Monday. WBA didn't look like relegation candidates - Chelsea were down to 10 men, but well beaten. I should say that's the best Albion have played all season.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |
