The King David Hotel bomb was one that people remember, but that was to destroy evidence stored there about previous attacks on British targets.

The people who created the British empire....who our children are taught to hate today....made this nation great during the time of imperialism. Something that wasn't great but that everyone who could was doing but we did better than anyone else.

What we have had since the beginning of WW1....though we are taught to celebrate them....oversaw our quite rapid decline.

The disaster that was WW2 left us economically destroyed and left us unable to afford to keep our empire (which always cost the common British more than it brought in for them).

We couldn't run away from Palestine quick enough and our troops were killed by an organisation celebrated in Israel.

Neither of those states are our friends and both cause us internal problems in different ways.....obviously individuals are not judged in the same way as good people can come from anywhere.

The bit I am mainly struggling with is the idea that it is a 'war'. Nation states fight wars. And even then, in this modern age, as rare as hens teeth.

Hamms launched a terrible terrorist attack. They run over the border, shot a load of poor sods, then f***ed off again. What Israel is effectively doing now is a policing operation.

But instead we get this 'war' BS being pour down our throats. Isreal is mobilsing 300,000 troops. The same number Russia has mobilsed for Ukraine (remember that?).

They are massing armour in Southern Israel. To what purpose? Makes zero sense beyond one big propaganda exercise. Muscle flexing. Isreal will be insane if they try to go toe to toe with Hammas in Gazza on anything other than a special forces platoon level.

We are literally seeing an army mobilised to attack a space of land smaller than South London. And even more congested.

Israel have been quite clear what they intend to do, you only have to read their statements.

Whether they will be allowed to carry it out is another thing entirely.

They called up 300 thousand reservists but their standing army is much more than that.....They have over 450, 000 possible fighters I think.

The US are obviously concerned as is everybody fears a wider regional war. I can't see that myself (cost and calculation) but if Israel do what they have said, which is essentially to clear out 'Hamas'...which means killing everything that moves. Then that's going to be very bad image wise in Arab countries.....the hatred will be scaled up...probably make a regional war a certainty at some point.

If Israel want Palestine to themselves and to put an end to all this it's what they have to do.

Would you get me killing women, children and babies? Nope.....but that's what this kind of thing means. That's what happened to them so they are going to....well they already are....do it to them. It's just a matter of scale.
