I disagree. I hope he gets the handbrake back on and stops listening to folk.

We're conceding so late because the team are old, lacking in energy / quality.

I'm not disagreeing, just saying that it will happen, for better or worse, as it is Roy's way. I totally agree with you that this team is old / unfit.

Apologies I’ve had a few and replied to the wrong post.

It's a worry, we definitely need a new approach and outlook. A new manager too!? The likes of Sheffield Utd and Westbrom are performing so woefully that we're likely safe this year even if we have a disaster, so forming a two year plan might be the best way to proceed.

Well, we have West Brom next, so we shall see - I have serious doubts that we will get a result in our favour?

Like all of the useless civil servants and unionists of his generation, it just seems he's impossible to remove no matter how badly he does.

Reidewald has been one of our best performers recently but was benched.

Our reserve left winger playing as a striker with £60m worth of forwards sat on the bench.

Eze, best player on the pitch but out of position, should play down the middle.

Taking Townshend off when you need someone to supply Benteke.

Constantly sticking with Kouyate.

Two central defenders on the bench again.

6 points from the last 4 games is a poor return.

If there was a crowd tonight, they'd be very angry. Empty stadiums are helping Roy sick the life out of this team.

With Wilf, we'll get through.
Without him, we don't score.

Come on it's so obvious. The proof is in the stats.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

Well that caps off a truly frustrating 5 days.

0pts and 0 goals against Burnley and Newcastle is pretty woeful however you dress it up. We easily could have come out with 2 draws but when you don't score it's always the risk you run.

I've no doubt adding Wilf back in will help our goal threat but the fact that no other striker seems to be able to take their chance is worrying. Along with the fact our ability to keep clean sheets has seemed to have dried up. Not a good combination really.

At least we've got over a week to regroup for the WBA game which has now become a very important game.

Very unfortunate to lose but yet again we failed to score.
When Townsend went off we were totally unbalanced with no width at all down the right and every attack going down the left hand side.

Sadly Dann was dreadful, caught out for both goals with his lack of pace and his mobility on the turn and generally he was decidedly shaky all game.I think it is time to remove him from the team as he doesn't look like a PL defender any more.

Newcastle were very lucky to come away with a win - their second goal was even deflected in by Cahill.
Dreadfully disappointing.

So you value Bats at £60m ?

Riedewald was brought on in a roll of the dice to win the game but was as slow as the thirty-odd year olds selected in front of him. He was also horsesh1t on Monday and can have no complaints about being dropped.

I just give up. Older players past their best or can last 60 mins before fatigue set in. Why not play a younger central defender alongside Cahill or Dann to develop. Missing Tompkins for sure.

Depressed.

I am just so bored with it all now. A bewildered 73 year old man lacking passion and motivation, stumbling around with a team of 30 year old players, not knowing what to do to score a goal. It’s pitiful really.

Think I will give the rest of the season a miss. I cannot bear to watch it any more. Will come back next season, when Hodgson has finally given up the ghost. Not really fussed what division we are in, I just want to watch a decent game of football, with flair, attacking players and the expectation and excitement of a goal from open play.

I get more pleasure watching the U23s on a one-camera internet stream. I have enjoyed watching Southampton this year, a bunch of no-name players giving 100% to try and score goals, with a great manager who has them organised and exciting to watch - happy days for their fans.

Thanks for all your efforts Roy, but you have had your day, it’s time to pack it in. Try not to drive the club too far into the mire in the next 6 months.

Tonight showed yet again that Roy is tactically clueless both pre-match and during the game. 3

Dann - was having a stinker all night. Almost gave away two goals in the 1st half with slack passing. He was left on and unsurprisingly was the guilty party for Wilson’s goal by getting dragged out of position and no pace to recover. Should have been subbed at HT.

Benteke- clearly we need a target man when we don’t have Wilf to run at defenders. Ayew is useless when he’s isolated up front. It’s unlikely Benteke will score but at least he’ll bring people into play and give defenders a hard time in the air. Should have come on HT.

Townsend- should only be on the pitch in tandem with Benteke. If he isn’t crossing it to somebody with half a chance of winning it, then he’s absolutely garbage. No pace, no trickery and he seems to have completely given up shooting from range. When Benteke did come on, Andros was subbed a minute later. Sums up Roy.

It’s a complete joke we let him stay after the disastrous end to last season. Hope Parish grows a pair and gets rid instead of letting him piss away the rest of the season waiting for him to retire
