Its a bit of a myth that we are tight at the back. No clean sheet since the first game and conceding 1.5 goals per game. For a team who cant score that is fatal.

Newcastle had an in-form striker on the pitch, our form player was off it. In the end that was the difference between two poorly performing teams. Too many players underperforming. Second half we seemed like the team most likely to win, but if we had I wouldn't have felt any different than I do now in terms of the performance. We can argue about squad selections and tactics but years of under investment is showing. WBA won't be easy. Written perfectly.

The tone for the whole game was set in the first 20 minutes, 0 shots. Suddenly with 2 attackers on the pitch we start to go forward making chances. Unfortunately this was in the last 10 minutes of the game and we conceded twice. At least if we had started in this manner we could of had time to rectify the situation. We look/act so fearful in conceding early every game, that we can never be comfortable. The exception was Leeds game but unfortunately there was no replication last 2 games. The disconnect from this performance was amply shown when PVA took a free kick in a dangerous position with Eze on the pitch !?!
