i think if we are going to spend that sort of money it would be better to get a younger creative attacking midfield player ,gayle murray and even campbell could do a decent job for us if they are given the chances ,

Campbell has and no he cant
Gayle is our best finisher but at the moment isn't up to leading a PL forward line
GM hasn't sadly got the pace we need

All would have some part to play but not at this moment are they of the complete quality we need.

Next ???

Agree with this. I can't see us scoring enough. Gomis would be a great signing + we have Sanogo on loan.

swansea have a better midfield than what we do, but and he could not score for them so why would he score for us ,and why would they want to sell him now they have sold w . bony ,

To be fair to Gomis, he has started 9 games for Swansea (league and cup) and scored 4 goals. He has a number of sub appearances but his goals to starts ratio is pretty good.

He is big, strong, and quick. What I have seen in the preimership in terms of shooting hasn't massively impressed me it is true, but enough people have said he was very good in France to suggest that the talent is there.

As for why Swansea would want to sell him; apparently they don't. But he has a release clause and so can speak to anyone who meets it. Whether he'd want to speak to us given the reported interest from top half teams, I am not sure.

Possibly for the £8m profit they would make seeing as they signed him on a free

We need to get a sponsor to pay for and this will happen . Gomis will score goals at these level. How 90 mins has he played.

I think Gomis is exactly the player we should be going for. He is the best fit for price/style of play/availability/standard.

The fact Swansea have just sold Bony does not affect his price as it's an agreed minimum fee in his contract, so as long as we meet it it will come down to if the player wants to make a go of it with Swansea believing he will be their new first choice front man or not. I suspect this could be one of those deadline day things, he may want to wait until the 11th hour to decide. If swansea don't go out and buy a new striker he will probably stay but I'd imagine there will be pressure for Swansea management/owners to reinvest the Bony money on a replacement striker

A lot of the Bony money is to be invested in improving the infrastructure of the club.

According to the Times today he was not that free - he is entitled to an £8m signing on fee. So effectively the fee they are looking for would cover that.

Why is this still bumbling along, we got our target man in on loan, we have Muzza as back up, Gayle and Campbell to play off them IF we go 442 and then we still have Chamakh! From what Pards has said about the financial precedent he's working towards we are NOT going to pay north of 8M for the permanent services of an unproven player!

If the Arsenal loanee is expected to score the goals to keep us up I fear the worst. Campbell is woeful and Murray is championship standard.
