Admittedly only seen the odd game here and there but that Costa at Wolves looks like a very very good player.Id like him.

We need someone capable of wining us free kicks and trickery like Wilf has. It will be difficult but will be needed.

Bollocks replacing first teamers with academy hopefuls. Utter bollocks. Pure fantasy. If they are good enough of course they'll get a start. But you live in a fantasy world if you think CPFC in this multi-billion pound game is going to carry 'trainees' into PL games when there is so much at stake. We still have no new stadium etc etc etc and we have been struggling to survive in the PL. Are you MAD?

Any academy investment is amazing but we won't see the results for at least 5 years after that. I hope kaikai can force his way in to the squad next season but Wilf is undoubtedly our best player and replacing him if he leaves is vital. Oliver Burke is a decent shout. Maybe Januzaj could work but it would definitely be a step down.

The day we see us start playing a good few academy players is the day there's a cap on foreign players on the field, not just in the match day squad. Because of the big clubs' power and the threat of a European league breakaway, that will never happen unless football implodes, and since there's a worldwide prem addiction, it ain't happening anytime soon.

Bolasie and Zaha had some of the same problems with their game at 21 but still better than Traore is now plus we'd need a top replacement should Wilf leave, Traore couldn't even get into relegation threatened Villa or Boro teams.

I was in Lisbon in January and went to see Sporting play. Winger Gelson Martins impressed. He's 21, can play on either wing, fast and skillful, just broke into the national squad (1 game as sub). Smaller than Wilf, plays a bit like Nathan Redmond. I was impressed, but Portuguese league a lower standard than the Prem, so a bit of a gamble but well worth taking in my view. Don't know what sort of fee, but shouldn't be beyond our means I'd have thought. Edited by crystal balls (23 Mar 2017 3.05pm)

Would love a large slice of it go on on Wilfs wages. He really is part of the spirt of our team. Would be a sad day to see him leave.
