It's a tradition. It's also traditional for people to be red carded before the votes are counted. And not unheard of for them to be red carded due to a row in this thread.

A red carded person who has come back several times with different usernames, often behaving in such an obvious manner people have known straight away that it was him. Sometimes new members that behave a little bit like him raise eyebrows and we all wonder if he's back.
