My chicken run is crawling with them. Sensible option is rat traps, but preferred option is high-powered, only just legal, air rifle, with telescopic infra-red sight, and a couple of amusing nights taking pot-shots at the little f**kers. Had a play with the father-in-law's new one, grouping within a 10p at 20 yards (down side being the whole kit would be pushing a grand). Maybe the rat traps then, but I'll treat myself to wearing camo clothing and face-paint when I set them

All tenancy agreement prohibit you from dirty habits and causing annoyance to the neighbours. A stairway to Heaven and a Highway to Hell give some indication of expected traffic numbers

Someone, somewhere must know who is either the owner or the letting agent for the property - a report to them about the rat infestation and her dirty habits that encourage their presence (preferably with photos of said mess in garden/waste on the porch) should elicit a response. Sounds like a candidate for the Jeremy Kyle show - I wanted a skank with filthy back door action, and now I have an infestation in my man garden

I could give you advice about killing the buggers, but your question is about the neighbour. Assuming we still have local authorities in this country, I would get straight on to the environmental health department, then not give up until they take action. Palace since 19 August 1972. get yourself or borrow a jack Russell. i used to have one. they kill rats and mice for fun & are good at it. literally used to find pieces of them outside the back door. dog just require a pat & a bit of grub as a thank you. Kids,tired of being bothered by your pesky parents? Then leave home, get a job & pay your own bills, while you still know everything.

i used to have one.
they kill rats and mice for fun & are good at it.
literally used to find pieces of them outside the back door.
dog just require a pat & a bit of grub as a thank you.

Fair play. And contrary to a lot of popular belief, Jack Russell Terriers are really good pets; very affectionate dogs. (Maybe the same could be said of the neighbour!) I have a 5 month old Fox terrier, who would probably like to kill something. Trouble is , I don't want her getting injured, or catching some sort of disease from the rat environment. She definitely wants to kill something, as she has chased garden birds and sheep in a nearby field. I'll check the traps tomorrow, and hopefully there will be a few dead bodies. I don't want to keep checking, as the rats become suspicious of human activity. On the other hand, I need to remove any dead rat bodies, as this gives a warning scent to other rats. So I need to reset the traps after removing dead bodies. I also need to get Local Authority Environmental Health on the case. In spite of my hostile relationship with the skank-lady neighbour, it needs to be witnessed by someone independent, who can take action. When I was 10, I read James Herbert's 'The Rats'. That book scared the 5hlt out of me, so I'm still a bit nervous of the bvgg3rs I disengage, I turn the page.

FFS don’t go near any rats - dead or not quite dead - without a decent pair of thick gloves on. Preferably the rubber type ones that can be rinsed/cleaned off under an outside tap.

my jack russ. was a cracking dog.
used to take off like an excocet missile.
real vermin destroying machine but very gentle with family.
i used to wind her up and she'd just do this soft nip thing, playing back.
wouldn't like to get bitten by one though , small dog BIG set of gnashers..
