It's great to see someone like Stormzy do so well, as a local boy and someone who seems grounded. Him speaking out against May, Grenfell, the Daily Mail is really admirable too, when others may keep quiet for fear of upsetting the media. Yeah fair do's. Good on him. It has gone quiet on that.

He smashed it last night, great performance to close the show. The last night of his shows at Brixton academy last year was live streamed on Youtube and that was top notch, as was Glastonbury as mentioned. Talking of South London, if you haven't seen the episodes of SWIL check it out as it's all filmed around South London.

His music is very bland the ed sherann of grime but all credit too him for being very successful seems a decent guy if not a little naive in some of his statements on crime political matters I’m a big fan of giggs Kano Wiley and early dizzy but for some reason stormzy seems really bland and boring

Ed Sheeran is also hugely successful, so maybe your opinion of bland is the way forward? I'm rather liking Not3s at the moment, even though I can't stand having to write his name like that.

If you stick to hard-core grime then yes you will earn a few quid but not enough to retire on. I actually think Stormzy has been quite smart. He's watered it down a bit and smashed his way into the mainstream which is where the big bucks are and fair play to the lad he is earning a fortune. Dizzee Rascal was the first to do that. He realised the money to be made when you come into the mainstream and start to collaborate with Ed Sheeran, Little Mix and the like. I dealt with Stormzy a couple of times on a professional level before he became famous... Came across as a nice enough lad... He's a big f***er!!
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

A mate of mine is adamant that Stormzy (and another guy) mugged his phone and punched him years ago one late night / early morning walking from East Croydon towards Sandilands. The Police couldn't be bothered to check any CCTV...in the town with more surveillance than New York. Would love to find out if it was actually him.

Thornton Heath lad like myself and any others, think he’s a top talent and fair play for him for using his platform that he has earned to say it how he sees it. Just a shame he is a Gooner.
