Can't find any tributes from fellow (non-Stranglers) musicians. Would that have something to do with their first two liberal-baiting albums? Jet Black still going (he was born in 1938!). I saw tributes from J-JB, Jet Black and the bloke who replaced Hugh Cornwell but not from HC himself.

Their manager, Sill (sorry, can't remember his surname) used to drink in my local, as he lived in my hometown at the time. We were drinking in another local pub one day when he heard the fruit machine play a Stanglers song. "they haven't licenced that". Very funny at the time. I know it hasn't really got a lot to do with Dave Greenfield, but I am bored at work. Just came to me. Sill Wilcox. Edited by stuckinbristol (05 May 2020 11.30am)

I did say 'non-Stranglers' Indeed you did. I was just flagging up that there'd been silence from HC, which I thought was surprising.

Seem them many times over the years. Great live band. In the mid 90s they sponsored the match against Forest. The guitarist who replaced High Cornwall was a Notts fan. Don't know if any of the rest of the band were, bearing in mind they were from Guildford. Most likely ManU then.

Angelic Upstarts are Sunderland, Sham never stated any football allegiance but I think a couple of them were Chelsea. Cockney Rejects are West Ham

There was a few yesterday, including Captain Sensible, John Robb, Therapy, Echo and the Bunnymen, Clem Burke, Chris Stein, Robert Williams, Dave (formula) Tomlinson, Midge Ure, Tim Burgess, Roddy Frame, Miles Hunt and Kirk Brandon. Plus non musicians, such as Jeremy Vine, Dom Jolly and Irvine Welsh. Originally posted by Slimey Toad
