The truly worrying thing is that if you get to see an accurate list of out-of-contract players available for free this summer, most of the better ones are the ones we're possibly releasing!

I also agree investing in CBs is the bigger need. Imo opinion it's easier to plug gaps at fullback with bargains/ youth/ squad.

Schlupp was a left wingback and Moses became a right wingback. The linked list has fair few mistakes anyway. That is another place which makes the simple Bats error his Palace loan contract is up but not his Chelsea one which he extended before he signed the loan deal with us. Unfortunately a lot of the worth while names wouldn't come to us or you look at the age of them I don't see them as a good solution. Edited by grumpymort (24 May 2021 4.54pm)

That decision to start the season with only Pape Souare as a recognised LB was mental and everyone knew it all summer. So sad that it happened, but we completely set ourselves up for the fallout of that car crash he had. Took throwing ~£30m at Schlupp & PVA and an Allardyce escape plan to get us out of that particular hole. Whatever we do this summer, I really hope we don't set up a repeat of that scenario.
