To call Speroni worst player ever is extremely harsh. He's remembered for the cock-ups, like goalkeepers are - Seaman's generally remembered for letting that Ronaldinho free kick sail over him, but he was a fantastic keeper. I'm not saying Speroni is as good as Seaman was but he is a decent goalkeeper who is extremely agile. Ismael hardly offered value for money, neither did Padovano to be honest, and who can forget Itzhik Zohar and his penalty fluff against Southampton on Boxing Day at home....

What about Alan Pardew. He was crap apart from one legendary moment at Villa Park.

Lee Sinnott, Paul Mortimer, Damien Matthew, Cedric Carasso, Amir Karic, Rudi Hedman, Andy Turner, Leif Andersen, Darren Pittcher, Stuart Massey, David Amsalem, Ray Wilkins . . . For the quality of his freekicks and passing I would say Dean Austin but his performances in the dark days of administration can excuse the number of setpieces kicked directly into touch.

Phil Barber. Nobody could ever understand why he got in the team. I met someone once who would only go to home games if he knew in advance he wouldnt be playing.

Can't believe anyone could include Speroni! I am amazed! How many saves has he had to make this season?

Valeran Ismael HAS to be the one that stands out in my mind. I remember going to the training ground at the time he was with us and he spent 95% of the time laid on the grass talking to his fellow non footballing countryman who was there. From the way they were acting I would think they had very "close" relationship. The other 5& of the time he was pissing in the bushes at the back!!! TOTALLY USELESS!!!!!!!
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |
