Just my two pennies worth

I see much negativity written about Steve Parish.
People seem to forget where we were a few years ago....on the brink of extinction with a threadbare squad made up of loan players, youngsters and the odd journeyman...

Negativity is part and parcel of running a football club, and without constructive criticism nothing would ever improve.

Where we were 7 years ago is irrelevant when talking about current performances and constantly being shockingly slow in the transfer market. Look at Leicester came up same year we did, look at Bournemouth came up the tear after we did, and we couldn't compete for Wiltshire's signature, who IS a class player. Watford came up as well the year after and are currently doing better than us, as are Burnley. We have only played one of the teams promoted last year from the championship, and Huddersfield battered us at home and it could have 5 or 6 nil, AT HOME. it remains to be seen how we fair against Newcastle and the weed, but right now I'm not confident at all.

We are now an established Premier league team with a fantastic squad full of class players.

I tried to be objective in replying to that statement, but I can't. It is pure fantasy, and if you really believe that tripe, I have some magic beans for sale. We are NOT an established premiership side, we have flirted with relegation in all but one of seasons in the top flight. We havent even been in the prem as long as the Clowns were FFS.

Fantastic squad ?? are you on glue ? we have a decent first eleven, but if one of those gets injured look at who comes in to replace them, Chungy ? Damo ? Kelly ? We don't have cover for Benteke, and our best Goalie is nearer 50 than 30. Great squad my hairy love eggs ! Good first 11, well decent enough, but fantastic squad ? are you that guy from the lego movie ?

Yesterday we added to that with a player that last year was simply an inspiration to the whole club and we have to thank Steve for getting his man....his relentless persuit of Sakho has meant he has come home...at the right price.

Palace the only club that could take that long to get a player in, that we had on loan anyway, was mates with three of our players, and said he wanted to move to the club. Still took us to deadline day JOKE. We have entered our 25 man squad for the most expensive league in professional football with only 24 players. How in name of a flying monkey fcuk is that anything other than utterly unprofessional, forgetting of course that we STILL need a striker and a new keeper (meanwhile the weed sign Krul right under our noses). We have, in every season thus far in the prem, been totally outfought, out thought and out bid by smaller clubs like Bournemouth.

If you think that entering a 24 man squad, when you are allowed 25, constantly starting seasons under prepared and undermanned (despite being in the same boat for 4 seasons prior)Losing the best two managers in the clubs history (Pulis and BFS) and the undeniable fact that the entire English speaking world knows your Keeper is pony, and you have no over at striker...is acceptable then I can't help you.

Yes we have missed out on a goalkeeper and a forward but only because Steve was not happy with the deals on offer...we have the loan market to get us through to January.

Goal keeper and striker where of the utmost importance, where do we spend nearly 30 million ? a defender, that unless we go back to four at the back will be no better in a three, than what we currently have. Klop is no mug, he knows MS is a center back who plays in a back four, a system we cuurently do not play. And no we don't have the Loan marketm as we already have our quota of Loan players, we can now only look to loan from abroad.

If FDB is not the right man Steve will deal with this in his own time.
Steve Parish is the best signing our club ever made....thank God he is still here.

FDB wasn't the right man for Inter Milan FFS what in the name of all thats holy makes you think he's a good fit for palace, you can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear. Play to our strengths 451 or 4411 and we start this season with 7 points whereas 3 games in we have none.

I totally agree that in normal circumstances 3 games is far to early for calling for the managers head, IM NOT DOING THAT just to be clear. What I am doing is hyper critical of a manager whose system does not, and will not work with our playing staff. Furthermore I am saying that whilst SP AND 2010 saved the club 7 years ago, they are not above criticism when it is richly and thoroughly deserved.

For what its worth several sides have not named 25 Squad players.
Theres no need if the club has Under-21 players (Contract and Scholars).
Man City is a good example.

Just wondering, as Sam admitted he had decided before the Hull game that he was retiring how did he know what the budget was for the summer? Obviously I'm not as clever as many on here, but I'm sure the budget wouldn't have been mentioned seeing as we weren't even sure what division we were gonna be in?
If he has reneged on his contract why would we allow him to just walk out? Are we that damn lovely that we're prepared to let a manager walk out on his contract leaving us in the lurch and say f*** all about it?
Sorry but I'm inclined to believe that Sam Alladyce came back for one reason and one reason only, to clear his name so to speak as he didn't want the England debacle to be the full stop on his career. IMO having done that he didn't feel the need to keep putting himself through everyday football management anymore.

I think of a club wants to hire Sam, they have to pay us compensation of sorts.

I complained that we were outbid by a club, you and others consider to be smaller than us.

But keep your head in the sand. It seems to be what the parish is god Bde are good at.

He has pretty much admitted he needed and used us to repair his battered image. We needed and used him just us much. Still a shame he has gone. Can't see him coming back either

I think where we're at with parish deciding all football matters without any respected football knowledge assisting (and DF isn't qualified at this level), is a case of lots of decisions, errors and mistakes, whether small or slightly bigger, that are easily excused. On their own they won't bring the club down or get it relegated, but together they can and might.

1 left back in Souare. Result is gradual decline into relegation (with a dollop of unprofessional guidance from Pardew. Result is we have to buy 2 in January that some moan about now, but don't want to acknowledge the need for 2 in January. Funny that one.

Shyte 6 months with Pardew. Contract extended, big switch to expansive football (without a lb). Sacked too late, bring in a top manager we're lucky is available, like Pulis (without the dithering is it worth it we had that time), 'wind the clock back' to what works. It does.

Wind the clock forward after having less money to spend because of Souare and no cover and then needing to sign 2. Oops. Never mind, Frank says the magic words of youth so it's perfect, lets wind the clock forward beyond Pardew.

Team is like ok ing vulnerable. Lots of defenders to aim for a 3 at the back system. None of them comfortable of clicking. No wing backs, no chance.

Panic. Have to sign Sakho now.

Now after 4 months of knowing our keeper and striker requirements, the decision to leave it till the last few hours as well as the expensive Sakho means we have signed neither. 4 months with 1 striker. Marvellous.

All might be excusable in isolation but all of them together just show how bad we are at forward thinking and planning and could set off a chain of events to relegate us for a very long time with more damage to follow.

The no cover for Benteke one will either be incredibly lucky or incredibly stupid. So I'd think twice before moaning about work rate, tackling, commitment etc.

The issues don't end there. Next season Cabaye and Jimmy will be free agents and cheek and Mensah will probably have gone back. So 4 players to replace with about £40 mil net.
