Forgive me if this has been answered and for not knowing in general, but can a free agent join the already named 25 man squad or do we have to wait until January to play him?

Great signing. The one player we were looking for - central midfield support. OK, technically/ideally we were looking an attacking central mid, but this really adds strength for us. Assuming he is fit, surely he is as shoe in playing alongside Cabaye, or at least in rotation with Cabaye. To be honest, I don't know how good he actually is, I've never seen his stats but certainly he brings pedigree to the team. Its a question of how long it will take him to get to match fitness.

So potentially would add a lot to midfield accuracy
