For a player that has almost single handedly got us promoted and kept us up? Behave. Why are you even just accepting that we should sell? To sell a player like that when you don't actually need or want to sell, would mean that you should at least demand an inflated price. 100 million would be my minimum. Don't tell me about how unhappy Wilf will be. Who cares. He earns more in a month than most earn in 5 years. Looking at your posts on AWB & Zaha, if it was up to you we'd never sell anyone and only heavily invest each transfer window. Look at the signings we've made in the last few years : Rakip - Loan WE ARE SKINT ! If you were in charge we'd have no club...

Does anyone on here have a spine? Wilf can sulk his way to obscurity if he likes or he can honour his contract, increase his value and reputation and move on when we say so. With two years left on his contract, we will want to cash in on him if he does not wish to stay, so he can be patient until then or strike for two years and lose any chance he had to play for a bigger club. Player power? Only if the club is dumb enough to cave in.

In the 'real world,' there are a number of examples of player who just signed long contracts being made to honour those contracts. You think we should just sell player at well below his value because he decides he fancies a move to a specific club? Don't be ridiculous.

You seem to alienate every person on this forum by constantly challenging anything people write. We did our load on Benteke, Luka, PVA, Sakho & Schlupp a few years back whilst upping Wilf's wages. We have only sold Bolasie since promotion, we need to balance the books - AWB was that sacrifice I think and it depends what is left of the £50M to spend. Clueless....

They tried their luck first time round. I would say based on the numbers given that we would take 75-80m. They have more than enough players to sell to do that. I still think it will happen personally...I hope I get to eat some humble pie later though...

Look at the signings we've made in the last few years : Rakip - Loan WE ARE SKINT ! If you were in charge we'd have no club... An excellent way of making the point that the club simply don’t have the money some supporters expert Parish to be spending. Having said that, the transfer window before Roy came in we spent: Sakho - £30m Then BFS signed Schlupp - £15m The summer before we signed Benteke £30M Since being promoted we’ve spent loads assembling a squad that can keep us up quite comfortably. I’ve missed out Zaha, Dann, Ledley, Mitch, Souare who cost a few million each. With FFP our high wage bill and lack of sales we’ve had to curtail spending for a couple of years. With the AWB sale plus the shedding of dead wood I think we should be likely to start spending again soon. On the other had - arsenal are putting all their eggs in one basket with Zaha. It would be foolish for him to go there. He should wait until one of the bigger clubs comes knocking.

The £40M-£50M upfront with add ons over certain seasons is pretty much what I was angling towards as acceptable. My point though was that it should be at least £40m upfront + a guaranteed additional 40m paid in instalments. Personally like you and most Palace fans I don't want to see the club sell, but I also recognise that if a club offers the price we asked then it becomes hard to stop Wilf from moving. I really do think we should stick to our value and not be bullied into accepting less. Maybe we should borrow Liverpool's negotiating team?
