In simple terms a club goes into administration when they don’t have the cash to continue trading. An administrator is then appointed to sell the club for the highest value they can with creditors awaiting anything left after customs and excise being paid. I fail to see how CPFC2010 can be held responsible for the debts of another company, whilst the owner of said previous company is swanning around living the high life and pontificating on radio as to how clubs should run their business. It doesn’t make sense.

If they'd offered him the job a month after leaving Palace he'd have taken it. Its YOU thats an idiot if you cannot see that. Pulis record as a manager is a water treader. He didn't spend a fortune because it was never given to him to spend, doesn't stop him having his eye to the main chance though. he proved that by trying to con Parish out of a bonus he did not deserve (because he had every intention of leaving and the bonus was contactually linked to future commitment to the club). I can't stand the bloke & how disrespectful he was to our club, that said - IMHO it's the best piece of short term football management I've ever seen. He deserved his dosh! He just didn't want to work with SP & realised he wasn't contractually entitled to it - so tried to be sneaky. In fact, the whole Pulis episode highlights SP's character - clearly won't be bullied by managers - which, in turn, a lot of managers don't like. We aren't unique - think Ashley & Benitez

All I would add is that it would be perhaps a tad churlish not to give them some credit for saving us from the dreaded drop. When Allardyce arrived we were 17th after 17 games with just 15 pts on the board and we finished in 14th place. It certainly wasn't looking good for us after that horrific 0-4 defeat to Sunderland ! Hodgson of course performed miracles in keeping us up last season after that dastardly start so credit to him as well.
So why was that exactly ....I'll wait

It doesn’t make sense. I remember discussions being along the lines that as a list of creditors had been published by the administator prior to a creditors vote - certain creditors stood out. St Johns Ambulence, small local suppliers and unpaid academy players digs providers were among that group. I'd forgotten that St John's got sorted by fans.

None of us know which creditors were paid and which weren't. The lists that were published included all the creditors at the time. I know quite a bit about administration and there are lots of companies that still get paid (a percentage or in full) when the new company needs their services. I chipped in with the St John's Ambulance bill but it's quite possible that they would have been paid in full anyway as they are would have been needed for the new company to work. In the same way that season tickets were still issued when (legally) the new club had no obligation to do so.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

There was a schedule issued by Brendan Guilfoyle the administrator, that listed all the creditors prior to a vote on accepting the Company Voluntary Arrangement.

Willo, BOTH deserve credit and thanks for their efforts while in Palace's employment. I did believe we would go down until Alardyce came in and accept he did a great job. But that has nothing to do with what I am talking about which is reasons for departure and behaviour after they left.

I wonder how many times we've all gone over this in the past. You posted that "trying to con Parish out of a bonus he did not deserve" which isn't true as he did deserve it as he saved us from the relegation that everyone of us thought was going to happen. If you had posted that he tried to take a bonus that he wasn't contractually entitled to" it would have been more truthful. Err, he didn't deserve it though did he because he signed a contract that stated he would recieve a 2m bonus if 1. Palace stayed in the division and 2. Pulis stayed with Palace (at least until the start of the following season).

Pulis deserved every penny of his bonus as not only did he ensure Premiership football for us but he also saved Parish a shedload of money in the process. He may well not have fulfilled his contractual obligations which is a different matter

Many on here want the club to be more savvy with its money, I don't think giving away cash unnecessarily is what any of us want to see.
