This post has been merged from a topic called 'seb stafford bloor' by bexleydave Good article and one I totally agree with, but there are a few on here who think it is nonsense and that buying older players is the way to go.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'seb stafford bloor' by bexleydave A good read and manages to encapsulate what I believe a lot of us feel about the way the club doesn't appear to have any clear vision, and how we go back to square one at the start of each new season.

Yes, this is the first time I feel we are on-course for relegation. Everything just feels wrong, 1 first team regular under 26, our best players want to leave or won't extend contract. Stadium plans are a joke. We've overstretched on player wages, Sakho, Meyer, Zaha, Benteke etc are all on bigger salaries than a top 6 team would pay. We are struggling to attract new players and Dougie has done a terrible job off field. I think we could really struggle this season.

All true apart from the limited picture painted of Bournemouth. They’ve been losing fortunes since before promotion, the owner doesn’t mind the FFP fines, and with that they don’t mind gambles alongside other purchases or whatever’s going on that isn’t speculative. I’m not saying we shouldn’t have done it but they’ve found it easier because the risk doesn’t mean anything to their owner.

All a bit damning but perhaps reflects the views of many supporters at the present time.Great dollops of negativity around.

Depending on the next 2 or 3 signings I think we’ll be ok for another season, but the evolving of the team when Zaha goes and actually our useless Benteke is off the books is highly crucial to our future, along with these ageing players, obviously. Some will have to be sold and money reinvested or we’re probably fvcked anyway.

Our model should be improving players through top notch coaching - i.e. added value by continual development a la Pep. Even the best players can improve. And if you only have one style of play, I'm quite happy that ours is counter attack.

Nothing like the same situation and Pulis left with disagreements over how we conducted and, as it turns out, always conduct transfer activity. Do nothing until until the last possible moment. Pulis achieved what we all thought was an impossible task at the time, unless you were confident in the mess we were in putting 3 attacks over the final third each match. There’s as much trapping a manager 3 weeks into the season when we do nothing on recruitment as there is the manager being discontented with what happens or doesn’t happen. Great, Parish isn’t to be taken advantage of, but please don’t try to paint this image of him being squeaky clean and knowing more than any manager out there. How many times have we messed up the first half of the season, including that very season under Warnock? Only once have we been prepared. Under Pardew. Only once. Clearly you dont read my posts. Or if you do you just want to pick apart the bits you dont agree with. I am one of Parish's fiercest critics (usually to redress the balance against the 'Parish saved the club therefore is God and can do no wrong' brigade
