I wish Benteke would go on strike. Or get one on target.

Look, you are entitled to your opinion on things like everyone else, this is a forum after all and I am not having a go. But try and get some perspective in regards to the financial side of things and remember who we are and where we were 9 years ago at Sheff Weds. I get that you don't care about finances and you support your team etc, but it is such bad judgement to come on here and dismiss the clear and obvious financial points people are making. Near enough every club outside of the top 7-8 in the Premier League will need to sell every year or so when they spend big, we've luckily obeyed your demands for 7 seasons and not really sold anyone. That's why FFP is such a big deal and we all wonder what plucky Bournemouth are up to ?! Selling Wilf is not a good idea on any level. We have no need to sell him at all and certainly not at a knock down price to a club that he chooses. We sell players when it suits us, not when it suits them. A contract is only flexible when both parties agree to terminate it.

But you're the one talking nonsense. You clearly dont understand the economics of modern football. No-one wants him to leave,Hes our best ever player but certain amounts of money make it easier to accept and move on from by strengthening the squad rather than relying on one unhappy player week in week out. If we block his move this summer he 1000000% goes next summer or even January, potentially having downed tools during that time frame, is it really worth losing out on 50ish million in transfer fees? We recorded a loss of £30m last year, we do not have the financial might to be able to start throwing our weight around and turning down figures upwards of 75-80m. You clearly don't understand what a 4-year contract means. I'm only going to say this to you once. If we are relegated, the amount of revenue we could lose during a prolonged stay in the Championship would dwarf any money we make from selling players. We are currently under no financial pressure to sell Zaha at all, so why sell him unless someone offers way in excess of his value? He needs to wake up and realise that when you sign a five year contract, you can't just decide that you have changed your mind after one year. Let him strike and see how that works for him.

Wilf's brother says we should let him forefil his dream, We let him go to the biggest club in the world, chance of cups, titles and championes league football, International football with England and he didnt make a real go of it, we made him one of the highest paid players in the clubs history, and still we hear the club needs to respect his wishes and let him leave..... errrr NO. We let you have your chance you didnt take it, you didnt need to sign a new 5 year deal last season. If you want to leave thats fine and we all will respect that BUT it will be on our terms.

How do you explain Saido Berahino and Jack Rodwell being paid when at West Brom and Sunderland respectively? Not sure Rodwell went on strike, he was a long-term sick note

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Zaha wants out' by Midlands Eagle I've been dipping into this thread since it started about 11 weeks ago and am not one iota the wiser than I was at the start about the prospect of Wilf staying with us. Could anyone tell me: Has he informed the club that he wishes to leave? If not, what is everyone on about?

I have found myself questioning whether the guy is even his brother! His surname is not Zaha and he presents himself as a French football agent in one of his Companies House registrations .... Wilfs agent is Will Saltergate I believe and know one has heard from him.

His brother however has plenty to say .

Without revealing sources, I know someone close to Wilf who told me that Parish had promised Wilf that if he signed a new contract to maximise his value he would let him leave. He gave the hint that this was going to be this year as well and also that it was going to be to Arsenal. It’s looking more and more likely that he may have been correct. Not my choice of results I have to say, but if he is going then we need to have a top quality player/players lined up to replace him.

Wilfs agent is Will Saltergate I believe and know one has heard from him. A bit of googling suggests his brother Herve Is a “football consultant” with Unique Sports Management which is Salthouse’s firm. He apppeared in photographs with Wan Bissaka when he signed for the plastics.
