Realistically I think those 3 wickets, including the captain will be decisive. England will look to remove the current pair, there may be a partnership but not really much further down the order. I will really miss test cricket, we will not be seeing any for ages. I reckon they'll go down swinging, I'd be amazed if they get anywhere near the draw. It's just under two months until the Sri Lanka tests start. I'm just hoping there's no monsoons during them.

Aftet this test statistics may show Chef as the best opening batsman, certainely the best left handed of all time. Jimmy may end up the best fast bowler of all time. Yhe nunbers dont lie.

There WILL be questions asked of the England bowlers if India get anywhere near a draw.Really cannot see them getting anywhere near the required total on a pitch that has been developing more and more rough patches. Fantastic "Chef" ! Only 1 of 5 players to score a hundred in their first and last tests. And the 5th highest scorer of runs in test cricket. He really is one of the pantheon of greats. They already do for now, and the foreseeable future. Hence having the slightly lower average than the other 4 both above him and below him in the all time runs list.

Saying that, this pitch did the most on the first day of the test and the early sessions have produced the fewest wickets. He's also the only player to open and close his test career with a 50 and a 100 in both innings.

Chef is the highest left hander in the list and top opener. Jimmy one away from top fast bowler of all time. Been a priveledge and (mostly) a joy to watch and follow them both through their careers . Sod the averages.

At tea India needing 5 an over to win with 5 wickets in hand. Who would have thought that. Anderson bowing well and also Root put himself on for a while did ok but the others leaking runs and have no penetration. A draw or India win IMO, watch this space. Tbh 3-2 would be a more accurate series result. The Oval looks a bit drab after the last few heady days has that 'end of proceedings' feel.

Conidering that we had them 2-3 and Kohli gone for 0, and considering the conditions today, what a pi** poor bowling display.

How long as it been since we had a bowler bowling constantly over 90? Can't help thinking that Olly Stone would make an impact here.....Hopefully the new ball will sort this out.

India's fast bowlers are quicker than those of England. In terms of speed it was mentioned that a spinner in Jadeja has bowled some ball just in excess of 60 MPH and that in village cricket some 'Fast' bowlers have bowled at this speed !

What a ball from Rashid shades of Shane Warne! Draw or England win from here. (I think). Test cricket what a game - my nerves still haven't recovered from 2005.
