Why are so many people assuming Roy is going to leave at the end of the season? All sounds like wishful thinking.

He’s not been a youngster for a fair while yet shown no signs of planning to leave the game. Recent quotes from Roy came across as noncommittal because he’s in a fortunate position whereby he doesn’t need to commit or chase a long contract given his age and undoubted wealth.

I think too many people are jumping on the ‘Roy’s definitely going to leave this summer’ bandwagon and may be in for a nasty shock.

I’m in the camp of preferring Roy to leave to pave the way for someone to inject a new sense of life into the club but am equally fully appreciative of the work Roy’s done whilst here.

I gave him no choice but to sack me"."

Yes, it was years ago so I'm sure the not so original poster is trying to make a comparison to the current situation at Palace.
