For the most part, he handled it well, there were times i kinda got bored with being beaten over the head with the message. Thing is, they want diversity, yet predominantly focused on the black representation - what about asian americans, latin american's, first nation? What about those actors with disabilities, trans gender, all these other issues? I personally think, the sooner we move on from the past and it's issue, move forward as one human race, treating people with respect, giving everyone an opportunity, then people will shine. Treat everyone the same and then things should be hunky dory. Instead of complaining, be the change you want to see. You clearly don't understand how self interest,I mean diversity, works.

I like Chris Rock, and a lot of what he said rang true, but when he says things like - Rocky films are like science fiction, meaning that black people are better boxers and that a white bloke would never be that good. This is either a racist comment or perhaps he's correct, and it may also be correct that white people are better actors than black actors hence why they're not nominated for Oscars. Some people enjoy being the victim I reckon.

Some people enjoy being the victim I reckon. It may well be, but there isn't really any objective evidence for either. Sport careers tend to be a great option for escape from the more impoverished classes of society. Add to that the tendency of the slavery period to be an evolutionary fast track for the passing of physical traits, as well as poverty during that period to naturally select towards physical traits, is probably more significant in the tendency towards a predominance of black athletes in the US. Of course, there are a lot more white actors than black actors. Given the history of the Oscars its absurd to consider them to actually be racist - Arguably the movie industry is far less biased than other areas of the US in terms of employment. But really its just comedy. The reality of boxing is that its hard to think of many Heavy and Superheavy weight boxing champions that are white, during my lifetime.

Isn't looking for racism where there is none, actually racist? No, finding racism where there is none is though. Its not racist to look for racism, because without doing so how would you determine there is none. But to establish racism where there is none, is selective bias - and potentially racist.

It's been going on for years in Hollywood... Al Jolson never got a nomination for any awards let alone an Oscar, yet he was dubbed the world's greatest entertainer! I guess it was because he was Black?
