I didn't see the Oscars but just read a transcript of his speech. Thought it made some good points with some good lines to keep it humorous

The only thing worse than pretentious thespian luvvies slapping themselves on the back is black pretentious thespian luvvies whinging about not getting nominated for a back slap. Never mind Chris.... why not start up the FOBO's the film equivalent of the MOBO's?

If 'Selma' wasn't a good film I'd agree with you but when you get the likes of Will Smith moaning about his lack of nominations it loses any weight it has.
