Thats funny because my son and his girlfriend came home earlier with the same story, that a couple pulled up in a car and ask them the same thing. My son's girlfriend took a sneaky picture of him as he was talking to my son is this the same bloke

In answer to the OP's original question, "have I been scammed"...yes, yes you have, I don't know how, but the nature of the scam will become apparent in the fullness of time. In the meantime, try not to let it play on your mind day and night, driving you mad with worry.
