Lewis Hamilton wins f1 world championship

I've been to and stayed in every track and paddock in Britain so motorsport and 'racing' isn't that foreign to me. F1 doesn't look anywhere near as good as it used to be although granted it's safer and they're not there to risk their lives for entertainment.

I used to be a big F1 fan and attended my first Grand at Brands Hatch way way back in 1964. However, in recent years my interest has waned. I find the circuits dull and uninteresting and the whole thing is very homogenized and corporate. Although the cars are very fast they don't present the spectacle that F1 once had when the cars didn't appear glued to the track. Having said that I am pleased to see Hamilton win his 4th title overtaking Jackie Stewart and his 3 championships.Fangio's 5 titles is the next target!

The top rate in the UK is 45% so it wouldn't be possible to give most of it to the taxman. Poor bloke would have to struggle on just £320k a week if he paid his tax in full.

I recall back in the 1960s twice world champion Jim Clark becoming a tax exile with the result that he could no longer race regularly on British soil (this was in the days when top drivers competed in events other than Grand Prix.)

well done lewis, boy done well. awesome driver especially when you compare him & bottas in the same car and will probably end the season with 100 more points than him. its amazing all the bad press he gets and the fact people judge him on the fact he decided to take up residence in another country, all the big stars live in a tax haven and we would all do the same!
