Championship would be disastrous, what are you lot on about?! A good thing would be our Premiership survival, new manager, clear out the dead wood, make suitable replacements. If we stay up or go down, we still will need to rebuild anyway and a Premier league status is a better foundation for us to do this from.

Absolute no from me. Yes the football ar the moment is pretty woeful stuff but I've seen a fair amount of that in the championship as well.

Hopefully we'll crawl over the line this year and then the club has to decide where it wants to go.

Do we really want to go there?

Coventry had 34 consecutive years in the top flight (9 in the PL) until they dropped out in2001. Their fans said they would be back. After 11 seasons in Division One / the Championship, during which time their highest finish was 8th, they found themselves in League One. The club then went into administration. Four years later they were relegated to League Two.

They have now made their way back into the Championship, but they are homeless and having to ground share with Birmingham.

This is perhaps an extreme case, but you only have to look at the number of other clubs that have descended into the bottom two divisions after a spell in the PL.

It hasn’t done Manchester City or Leicester much harm and Wolves, Sheffield United, Leeds and Norwich also made their way back to the top. Blackburn, QPR and Sheffield Wednesday are in the Championship (the latter in the relegation places), but Oldham, Swindon, Ipswich, Bolton, Sunderland, Charlton, MK Dons, Bradford City, Hull, Portsmouth, Blackpool and Wigan are currently all in League One or Two.

Exactly this. Relegation will set us back years because of the financial implications and the current player situation. Yes, most of our ageing squad would leave if we went down, but our youngsters aren't yet ready for the Championship never mind the PL. If we go down this year, I would see us as favourites to drop into League 1 next year. Also, how many of our promising youngsters (U18 and below) will stay with us then? Also, are our own 1st team youngsters going to stay? Won't they be lured away by other PL clubs?

We need to hang in there for a couple of years or so until our better younger players (U18s etc.) are developed and we see what they're made of. If we bring in a couple of younger players this summer to join Eze, Mitchell, Riedewald and Ferguson (along with a new manager, of course), we will be moving in the right direction.

It's funny, some posters saying how we aren't ready for the Championship, we won't be able to compete giving the current state of affairs.
Question: Given the current state of affairs how will we be able to compete in the Premiership if we manage to avoid relegation? A complete overhaul is due whatever way you look at it, whether it's in the Premiership or the Championship.

If he wants to sell the club he's got to. May take a while to regain momentum in the league if we are relegated but a good stadium is the biggest asset a club can have.
