That's boys service Nick and they cannot fight and die for their country until they are 18 as it is with voting rules!

Looking at the kids down my road, I'd have a lot more faith in sending them off to kill a person than making an informed political decision.

Do you know, I used to wonder why we got so few new posters and so few from our younger supporters. Of course, the reason must be they are lazy, feckless and have no interest in Palace, local affairs or current affairs. Or, just maybe, they don't feel especially welcomed or valued.

They are too tied up on their facebook pages and mobile phones. Have you noticed that when they do come on the fan sites they post a lot of cr@p and expect far too much from their teams. Just look at the BBS for a start.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

I think people ought to be 25 before they can vote.

Absobloominglutely.

Put my daughter in a room with my mother and see who wins the debates. And my mother is a denizen of a certain national political party, attending conferences n everything.

Does not say much for your mother which I think is quite a nasty thing to say about her just to bull up your daughter. Bad example in my honest opinion mate!
Very poor example.

They keep raising the retirement age so it's only fair something gives at the other end.

I'd set the same age for driving.

Problem is, now we've left the EU, obtaining that data from other countries is going to be a lot more difficult.

Still, way that Brexit is going, give it a year, and we could all be looking for work washing cars in Lithuania. Or be up for leader of a major UK political party.

Ha.

Surely Interpol and the usual cooperation will still apply. It would not benefit anyone to disrupt it, other than terrorists.
This is surly similar scaremongering to the Right in France saying they would return the border to Dover.

If we don't leave Europe in an orderly fashion and cut immigration, your last sentence obviously wont apply to Labour or the Tories.

My new party would be campaigning for;

Reducing immigration to skilled professionals who have a job offer only.

Improving education standards and training for school leavers.
Hugely improved border controls.

The removal of Scottish MPs from English Parliament.

The banning of all overt religious symbols and clothing in public.

Bigger caps on rail prices with the threat of renationalisation.

The removal of inheritance tax.

A levy on anyone owning more than two homes.

That's just for starters.

To the contrary. My mother is a very practiced and accomplished debater, including at national conference and at the Sunday lunch table. It isn't nasty to say I believe my daughter generally wins their debates. It simply shows that age does not automatically indicate you are more thought through. The idea that 17 year olds shouldn't vote as they don't know what they are talking about does not hold any water with me.

Why on Earth would you think I am being nasty about my own mother? Did you not notice I wrote that she is a political activist of some standing?

Ok. But if they pass the points system they will be allowed to bring their families over too. So if say 40,000 are allowed to settle per annum and they are qualified and experienced and needed then it's fair to say they won't be many 21 year olds amongst them.

Wives and children? That's gonna get that to over 100,000 straightaway. Australia allows the olds too to join their kids. So add another few thousand.

Then there's the fruit and veg pickers. They are needed.

Blimey. We are going to need loads.

We have loads of school leavers out of work so use them !!

But free when you receive a state pension, it might pop a few off and save a few quid.

Interpol doesn't do it, the obligation to provide data comes from a shared EU initiative I believe. Outside of the EU, its down the UK embassies to negotiate the information.

Thing is, if you've got a load of s**ty petty criminals kicking around in your country, and they might all f**k of to another country, its kind of in your national interest to let them become 'someone else problem'.

With the larger, nations such as Germany, France, Belgium etc its a lot easier. The problem becomes the quality of the records in countries like Lithuania, or Romania and of course whether the offence committed is an offence in the UK (It would be a bit harsh to ban people from the UK on the basis of a criminal conviction for something that's not illegal in the UK).

Plus of course you have to translate them on top of that. In many cases of course, the offences will not be recorded in computer records either.

Reducing immigration to skilled professionals who have a job offer only.

Quite agree, and the process should include a charge levied on the company, that can be redirected in to skills training in the UK.

Improving education standards and training for school leavers.

Definitely, but the fact that needs to be stated is a damning inditement of UK society and governments.

Hugely improved border controls.

They're generally quite good. What they need more is probably the staff, data and equipment to do the job more effectively.

The removal of Scottish MPs from English Parliament.

Won't happen without independence for Scotland, as its the UK parliament. I guess you could have an English Parliament, but then that would probably result in a reduction of influence England over the UK Parliament.

Can't see that getting through parliament, plus it would violate the Equality acts currently in place.

Bigger caps on rail prices with the threat of renationalisation.

Good stuff, and now a realistic threat with the EU exit.

The removal of inheritance tax.

I'm torn on this one - I'd probably agree but maybe see it set at a lower percentage, and scrap exemptions.

A levy on anyone owning more than two homes.

Individuals, families or companies?
