We are continuing to give the Aussies a damn good tonking this morning with a 1st innings lead now in excess of 100. If we don't lose wickets it will be interesting to see when a declaration might be made. The predicted poor weather over the weekend is going to be central to such a decision.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Another great Ashes day, fantastic batting from Bairstow give us 275 run lead. At the end, Australia 113-4 (Smith gone). Can England get home despite the weather? Let's hope so, but when it rains in Manchester, it rains.

Because of the weather I took the 2-1 the draw on offer before play started. Its now 1/2. The cash out offered is derisory though. It may be more after a day without a ball bowled tomorrow. So for me its win win. A draw and I collect £150. England win, result.

Pouring down in Wales already. Even if it stops, the ground might be water-logged for a bit. Weather looks better tomorrow, so am hopeful the conclusion is played-out, rather than rained-out.

It’s not often they predict a complete wash out, but they are today. Such a shame for those that had tickets

Root winkles out Labushagne. England a bit flat. Tomorrow can we take 5 wickets rain permitting, we needed that last wicket partnership Australia only 60 behind. Fingers crossed.
