Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Nor do I. Neither of us has to either. We have the choice too. Our parents thought just the same. Then we became parents and grandparents ourselves and the wheel turned. The point is to come to terms with it, rather than try to change things that will either change as the young mature, or don't change because what they have done is better. It's just unimportant. So many more important issues to be concerned about.

Please try turning down your garbage control for a while, the level is getting deafening. You seem obsessed with how Cornwall will be in the future. Nothing you or I can do will make the slightest difference to that and anyway Cornwall is more than capable of coping. The contrast between London and the SE and Cornwall was stark 50 years ago and I am quite sure will remain so. It has already changed here and will doubtless do again, but not in the way you seem to imagine. This is, and will remain, a rural environment, and not a crowded city. People come here to holiday and retire. There is more back office work arriving but not at levels to make huge changes. The motivation for big change is simply not there. Your fear is not really about Cornwall at all. That’s just a vehicle for your prejudice. Your fear is all about the idea of “The Great Replacement”. The popular myth of the far-right that if we continue to see immigration at the current levels then the established population (aka “white” people) will end up being replaced. Most of this originates, as do almost all of your theories, in the USA and consequently the debunking comes from there too. I could provide several examples, but this will do, as we have been here before, several times:- Don’t like that? Try one from a Christian perspective:- These are dangerous ideas which need to have cold water all over them. Even people like you ought to pause for thought before spreading such potentially life threatening nonsense.
