The first half yesterday was the first time in ages I've seen us really boss a team about and that was Mlivojevic chasing down balls, winning them in midfield and distributing them well. Usually as soon as we win a ball we've been giving it back to the other lot instead of using it. In the second half we sat deeper and it didn't work so well, especially after Cabaye went off we resorted to hoofing it more.

Midfield looked good from the stands yesterday. However, oddly, BBC report that a poor Middlesborough had more possession than us. I suppose we sat back more in the second half than they did in the first half. So whist good getting the ball and distributing perhaps not quite good enough yet? From the stands my heart was in my mouth as Boro broke forward from their penalty box with what looked like 5 players but Luka just took the ball beautifully. That was the moment I thought we have a proper player here. Superb Parrot

What's everyone thinking our best midfield is now then? Well, in my opinion, our three best central midfielders at the moment are Milivojevic, Cabaye and McArthur. How you'd fit them all in, I'm not sure, because I don't know if Cabaye can play where Punch plays.

Thought he had a good game and seems to have a nack of being in the right place at the right time. Did the simple things very well and all the more impressive given this was only his second game in the premiership. We look a better team with him in it. Part of me is disappointed that we had to spend £13mn odd on him because I thought Flamini would turn in to an important player but he's never really got going.

I think its been said but....a great first half, but went missing a bit in the 2nd. If he was told to sit deeper, I think it worked to M'borough advantage. Cabaye also seemed to disappear in the 2nd half until subbed.
Joe Hart looks angrier than a kid with no Easter eggs, David Silva looks like he won't smile for a week. Vincent Kompany has taken his shirt off and looks like he might just start a fight with himself. The visiting dressing room will be a glum place. |

On top of everything else good about him he was talking/shouting to people as to what to do and where to go and also kept trying to pull the midfield forward - not that it worked much in the second half.
