I think that's the dream, liklehood is that we won't see both Chambers and Sakho straight away. Would be perfect for Frank's style though as he was our only defender who did any good at bringing the ball forward last season.

This for me: Chambers Sahko Riedewald Van der Wiel Milevoyevic Cabaye(C)/Loftus-Cheek PVA Zaha Benteke Townsend SUBS: Hennessey, Ward, Tomkins/Dann, Schlupp, Puncheon/McArthur, Loftus-Cheek, Wickham/Ladapo/Anderson My idea of a decent line-up (and I don’t care about Puncheon being made captain)

Why is Riedewald being put in anyone's team he is 20 he was not even a starter for Ajax last season, we have not seen him play give the lad a chance. I hope he develops into a good if not great Palace player but lets not build him up too much. If he starts the season on the bench he will be happy.

It's alright having these ideal line ups but when you stop and think they are definitely just fantasy. We just might get Sakho but Chambers and Der Wiel? We aren't Man City!

Benteke's mainly headed goals and Wilf's wing play with goals added to his game were the main reason we managed to stay up. Get the idea about varying the tactics but appears Benteke hardly saw a cross in HK. Reserve judgement but getting a bit concerned by some of this bullsh1t tbh.

I'm not the biggest fan of it and wouldn't say it suits us too well. The way we play it, our two central midfield players end up sitting very deep and are not too willing to carry the ball forward (would expect Puncheon to do this but he doesn't), meaning that they can't really link with the front three. For me, there has seemed to be too much of a gap between them. From what I have seen they are not always looking to receive the ball from the back three either which means that the defenders end up having to try and hoof the ball. Benteke seems very isolated. Also I personally prefer having wingers and full backs so that they can support each other up and down the flanks. However if we have a central midfielder who is willing to carry the ball forward and pass effectively (not just backwards or sideways all the time) perhaps it could work a bit better.

Yeah feels like we're trying to squeeze our players into a system, instead of figuring out a system to suit our players. We've got 4/5 quality centre mids...with two spots for them in the new system. Mmmm.
