General Talk used to be much more interesting and fun when all the principal posters of the day regularly got together in Hol meet-ups.......

That echoes what I said really, in that it's the lack of in person contact with the person you're conversing with that leads to this one dimensional view of them, hence a perpetual slanging match that doesn't really reflect reality. I actually think at this point if some of the 'personalities' here met up there'd be a punch up. With that in mind people should meet up for a mini boxing tournament :-D.

What I mainly use 'General Talk' for is to write about other sports. Personally I would like a section just for other sports.
