So what's your masterplan then? You got a billionaire tucked away somewhere that we don't know about? Fact is that Parish stepped in when no-one else did, if we had a Tony Bloom equivalent knocking about at any point in the last ten years then they haven't stepped forward have they? Until someone steps up to buy the club with deeper pockets than Parish and the board, then we are what we are and we can only get in the players we can afford. Ambition don't mean sh!t if you don't have the money to realise it and I don't see a line of people queuing up at the entrance to Selhurst Park with blank cheque books. Not sure what you expect the club to have done differently over the last 10 years, what would you have done with the resources we have had that would have us pushing for Europe right now?

It's all well and good picking on one club and saying 'Look what they did'. It's been fairly well documented that Brighton (and Brentford) took a different method to select transfer targets, and it's working for them. I have no doubt that there is ambition in the club - but there is also realism and sustainability. Theyre the ones with the inner knowledge of the club and the finances. Keep them honest, by all means but to suggest there's no ambition is a little disdainful.

Virtually every club in the bottom two thirds of the division can be envious of Brightons progress. Brentford and Fulham had good years , doesn’t mean they will keep it going.
