Matthew 5:17 'Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them'.....This can be taken in different ways. Jesus himself is never found stating that he's starting a new religion different from Judaism....All that comes after him. He puts himself forward as the fulfillment of Judaic prophecy. "Thou art Peter and upon this rock I shall build my church". Matthew 26:28 where Jesus affirms that the shedding of his blood signifies a new covenant. His coming was foretold in Jewish scripture but, once he came, the old deal was supplanted by the new one.

What I'd say is that you are certainly telling me the conventional modern day interpretation. The version that prosecuted the others, often violently, out of majority contention. It isn't the only interpretation......and personally I can see why. Edited by Stirlingsays (11 Apr 2017 6.33pm)

This is the glue that's held the whole thing together for so long.
