The whole Guy Fawkes burning thing does seem incongruous with current attitudes. I suppose that Guy Fawkes has become a children's character rather than the representation of a real person. my view for what its worth, since when has poor taste become a crime? the joke isnt funny at all but how does it compare to the 16 year old stabbed & killed in tulse hill? or the one in anerley. I do think we have lost perspective a bit, surely we should be trying to sort out why kids of a certain ethinic background are stabbing each other??

Meanwhile, down in deepest, darkest, Lewes they not only (and very publically) burnt an effigy of Guy Fawkes but also one of the Pope and a double one of Boris Johnson carrying the severed head of Theresa May - there should be enough in there to keep Sussex Police busy if the same principles are to be applied......

I still can't get my head around how we take another news story / incident, completely unrelated or relevant and say how that in comparison this isn't worthy. How about 9/11 or Tsunami's in Indonesia?
